hantu dive 12mar05

went for a dive with big paul(his way better photos here) and his fellow hardkore dive photographers. i want macro lenses! bleah.

the first dive was great! we did west of hantu and vis was absolutely great! the coral growth there is great! i can't believe that there was so much coral there! the marine life was all out! camera died on me though. so i have nothing to show for it.

2nd dive near jetty was not such a good experience though. vis was totally down to 1.5m and it was dark as the sun decided to hide. wished i had a dive torch then. maybe cos the first dive was so great and all my previous dives near the jetty were always great. i did get to fool around with a school of fusiliers though.

ah well. i'll be back next week with a vengeance, hantu! *shakes fist in air*

whip goby.
after many hydroid stings, this is all i got to show( it's sucky i know). taking macro underwater is tough especially if you don't have a powerful camera, appropriate lenses and the whip coral(sub-subject) keeps moving in the current.


cuttlefish. the only shot i got off on first dive before camera decided to die. i saw it buried in the sand with its camo turned 'on'. it was only after i tried to get the attention of other divers that it noticed me, turned white and jetted away. i took this while it was making it's escape.
